The problem

Launch platforms like Product Hunt helped shape the tech world, but founders in the MENA region rarely get seen there, and on many boards money buys a higher rank. YallaMashoor gives builders in and for MENA their own stage, ranked purely on merit.

What we built

• A public launch board where founders publish AI apps, websites, SaaS products, mobile apps, developer tools, GitHub projects and local businesses built in or for MENA.
• Discovery by time and category: browse launches from this week, this month or all time, and narrow the board by category.
• Community reactions: signed-in members can Toast, Meh or Roast a listing.
• A transparent ranking score: Toast × 3 + Meh × 1 − Roast × 1, with publication time breaking ties. Paying publishes a listing; it never buys a higher rank.
• AI editorial reactions: the platform writes one short reaction from the product's name and tagline, and the author chooses whether to publish it.
• Two ways to go live: add the YallaMashoor badge to your site and pass manual review, or pay $1 once through Stripe to skip the review.
• A shareable page for every live product, so founders and supporters can send people straight to it.

My role

YallaMashoor is a side product of Basha Technology Solutions LLC, Kumba.ai's parent company. As Lead Developer I built the launch board, reactions, ranking, publishing flow and Stripe payments.

• Vinext (Next.js on Vite) deployed to Cloudflare Workers, so pages render at the edge.
• Cloudflare D1 stores launches, reactions and scores.
• Clerk handles sign-in for the community.
• Stripe runs the one-time $1 publishing payment.

Impact

• 50+ startups across MENA have already paid $1 to publish, before the official launch.
• A launch board with no paid ranking: every product is ordered by the same public score.
• A dedicated home for MENA founders to launch, get feedback and be celebrated.
